Neostigmine Used for:

Neostigmine injection is used to treat a muscle disease called myasthenia gravis. Neostigmine, sold under the brand name Bloxiverz, Neostigmine injection is also used to prevent or treat certain kidney or intestinal problems. This medicine is also given after surgery to help reverse the effects of certain types of medicines that have been used to relax the muscles.

Functions:

Neostigmine inhibits the hydrolysis of acetylcholine by competing with acetylcholine for attachment to acetylcholinesterase at sites of cholinergic transmission. It enhances cholinergic action by facilitating the transmission of impulses across neuromuscular junctions.

Allergies
